In an effort to keep our guests and staff safe and not overwhelm our restaurant partners while they transition back to regular capacity, we have put our tours on hiatus through the end of 2021. We will reassess in 2022.

Food & Drink Inspiration for a Finger Lakes Wedding

By Sarah Barden on February 14, 2019

Sweet Bough Wedding Collective members offer local catering, bar, and dessert options for your Finger Lakes wedding!

Everything you need for a joyful, calm, and delicious wedding celebration.

In 2015 Seth and I exchanged vows at Robert H. Treman State Park. We hiked into the gorge and kissed by a waterfall, and the next day – still in our hiking boots – we hosted a DIY reception and potluck with pie & s’mores for dessert. It was a homemade, all-are-welcome, honest-to-us celebration of love. We coordinated it all ourselves – which meant every aspect was personal, but it also meant I cried from stress while my dear friend was doing my hair for the reception. While I have no regrets for our wedding, I wouldn’t have minded a little less stress… which is where Sweet Bough Wedding Collective comes in!

Sweet Bough Wedding Collective

If you or someone you know is planning a wedding in the Finger Lakes, this is for you. Sweet Bough Wedding Collective includes over 80 vendors of all shapes and sizes who abide by common principles of respect, inclusion, and compassion. From the big decisions like venues and caterers to the details like custom rings and group activities, you’ll find your dream team of locally-focused vendors there. The collective is organized by Allison Usavage (a photographer) and Rachel Conroy (a wedding planer) – two wonderful and talented women whom we’ve collaborated with on various projects. (Allison is responsible for all the photography on our website, for example!)

You can find a complete list of vendors on Sweet Bough’s website, but I’ve highlighted a few of our favorite food & beverage vendors below!

Food: Macro Mamas

Ithaca has a love affair with Macro Mamas. They are a group of chefs and gardeners dedicated to local, seasonal, and sustainable cuisine, and can make delicious food for any diet – from purely plant-based to omnivorous. They can be found at the iconic Ithaca Farmer’s Market on Saturdays (their booth is never without a long line) and their popular to-go meals are sold at GreenStar Natural Foods Market and Gimme! Coffee.  Hosting a private event catered by Macro Mamas is our absolute dream.

Food: Luna Inspired Street Food

We love visiting Luna Inspired Street Food on our Science of Taste Food Tour because their globally-inspired dishes are inventive, flavorful, and satisfying. They created a custom entree for our food tour, so we know how creative and flexible they can be when adapting wordly flavors to your preferences. Whether your wedding requires formal catering with staff or you opt for the casual food truck service, Luna will provide a memorable spread.

Food: Silo Food Truck

The energetic duo behind Silo proudly serves their comfort food from a food truck decked out with a technicolor rooster mural. If that wasn’t enough of a hook, their inventive takes on hearty favorites will win you over: think mac & cheese with ham & pickles, or fried chicken over coconut sticky rice. Katie & Jesse will enrich your wedding with sustainably-sourced food and an “all-incusive-non-exclusive” vibe so all feel welcomed.

Food & Drink: Serendipity Catering & Bar

Dreaming of a signature cocktail for yourself and your S.O.? Serendipity’s gorgeous custom cocktails are Pintrest goals. Their full-service bar features local beer, wine, cider, and spirits and will give you and your guests a high-end experience wherever you’ve chosen to celebrate.

Drinks: Suntrap Botanicals

If you look to your beverages as a vehicle for wellness and rejuvenation, you might consider an herbal beverage bar curated by Suntrap Botanicals. Teas, herbal sodas, and local bitters will connect you and your guests even further with our natural surroundings, while simultaneously setting your wedding apart from every other.

Cakes & Desssert: One Ring Donuts

One Ring Donuts

Some donuts are doughy; others are cake-y… One Ring Donuts are decadently moist and fluffy! We’re obsessed with their recipe, their creativity, and their seasonally-inspired flavors. Rest assured: the vegan and gluten free donuts are just as good so you can satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.

Cakes & Dessert: Sinfully Delicious Baking Company

If you are a lover of organic foods, naturally-derived colors, and locally-sourced ingredients, a custom dessert from Sinfully Delicious will definitely delight. From cakes to tarts and everything in between, Racquel crafts thoughtful and beautiful treats and can accommodate any allergy.

Cakes & Dessert: Emoticakes

Dessert should be FUN! While helping two friends plan their wedding we visited Amy’s cheerful attic bakery for a cupcake tasting. She made every decision – from the style of the sprinkles to the decoration on the cupcake liners – a joyful one, and choosing to go with Emoticakes was one of the few decisions my friends didn’t second-guess.

Sarah Headshot

Sarah Barden

I’ve always dreamed of a career in food. When I was in high school I used an independent study to learn the basics of cooking. It was then I realized – I’m not much of a cook. All these years later I’ve finally found a way to follow my stomach. I could not be more excited to share this passion for food with you!
